Wedding Information
Congratulations!!!
Hiiii brides and grooms to be! Let me start off by saying congratulations on your engagement! I know this is such a fun and exciting time for you as you prepare for the big day that starts the rest of your lives together. I can’t wait to hear about your thoughts, plan, and vision for your wedding and be a part of this with you!
Every wedding is unique to the couple planning it, and thus why you want your day to reflect YOU as much as possible. I know choosing a photographer is such a personal part of your planning, for a few reasons. One, there are a LOT of us out there (and a lot of really good photogs at that!), so if you’re here and finding me, the universe definitely aligned for us! Second, as your photographer, I’ll be running around the entire wedding day making sure everything goes right. We’re going to spend a LOT of time together, and we definitely need to vibe! All that to say, I’m glad you’re here.
Because I’m a firm believer in every wedding being unique, I don’t offer set pricing for wedding photography. I build custom collections for each and every couple based on their needs and budget. Let’s plan a time to talk together - either on the phone or let’s meet for coffee or a drink - and I’ll ask a series of questions to piece together what your day will tentatively look like to determine how many hours of coverage you will need. From there, we’ll get into a few more details and chat budget and create something just for you.
A Few Things to Know About Me When It Comes to a Wedding
• I am here for you 110% at the wedding, even if it’s past my photographer duties. Need a break? I’ll clear the space for you. Need help putting on jewelry, buttoning your dress, straightening your tie? I gotchu. Ready to eat something? I’ll go grab it. My number one focus is on YOU.
• It’s highly unlikely that I’ll ever see anyone from your wedding again. If I need to be assertive to make sure the day flows how we need it to flow, I’m not afraid to stand my ground and make things happen!
• If you have specific requests for certain shots, I would definitely love to hear them. Aside from that and a detailed family list, I don’t use a shot list. After hundreds of weddings over the last decade and a half, I know what I need to photograph and a list will slow down the process. In booking me, you trust my process, and I won’t miss a single detail!
• Also, I don’t use any form of artificial light unless absolutely necessary. I want to capture the day exactly how it is. Even if there’s low light, that’s how you planned it. My camera has the capabilities to shoot in extremely low light and still look good, so unless I feel like I truly need something, I’ll be shooting the day with the lighting exactly how it is.
• Lastly, I like to have FUN! We are going to have such a great time working together and any stress that came with planning will melt away.
A Few Things to Know About What Your Wedding Collection Will Include
• Every custom collection will include wedding day coverage with one photographer (me!) and all edited digital images with print release. I guarantee a minimum of 600 images and usually there’s *a lot* more than that.
• Every couple also gets a FREE engagement session when you book your wedding photography with me! That includes thirty minutes of shooting time at one location with one outfit, an online proofing gallery of all of your edited images, and 8 digital images of your choice with print release. You can upgrade to a full session if you prefer, or purchase more images after your session. The big reason we do this is so we can have more time to get to know each other. I can see how you interact together, and the poses we do here are some of the same ones we’ll do on the wedding day, so it’s kind of like a warm up!
• I make a full multi page pdf of a wedding timeline for every wedding that has full details for each part of the day and an extensive family list.
• If you want to add on a second shooter or are interested in printed products from your photos, we can talk about those options as well!
FAQ
How many weddings have you shot?
Literally in the hundreds. I started my business in 2009 and weddings were a huge part of my business and helped me grow exponentially. In 2010 I had 6 weddings, in 2011 I had 17 weddings, and in 2012 I had 35 weddings, and so on. I grew fast because I’m good at my job (and I don’t say that in a conceited way at all, I just truly stand by my work). I had dozens a year between 2013-19 and then slowed down a bit to make way for more boudoir, but have continued to shoot weddings every year. People in love will always be a favorite for me.
What’s your style?
I know this is a popular question, and definitely helpful to keep in mind when thinking about your wedding photography. My personal style is a mix of fine art and documentary, with romantic vibes and a story-like telling of your day. My editing is a true color style with plays on light and shadows.
Can I see a full gallery from a wedding that will be similar to mine?
Absolutely! I’m more than happy to send a gallery so you can see what a full day of wedding photography with me looks like.
What is your turn around time? How many photos should I expect to have?
After the wedding, you can expect to have an online downloadable gallery within 4-6 weeks of your wedding. I guarantee a minimum of 600 images but usually there are much more than that, as well as hand-picked black and white copies. You will definitely have plenty to see and share!
I’m planning an elopement and won’t need a full day of coverage. Can I book a different kind of coverage?
Yes please! I love smaller weddings and elopements because they are so intimate, which is my vibe 100%. We can chat through details and come up with a plan to make sure we’re getting the exact kind of photos and experience you’re looking for!
What’s the back up plan in case something goes wrong?
I can proudly say (knock on wood of course) that I’ve never had to miss a wedding. Even when I was less than a week post op from a c-section, I was at my scheduled wedding. If by some insane chance something happens, I have back up photographers on stand by that will step in and photograph the wedding for me, and I would still edit the images so they will look how you expect your images to look.
How do you work with other vendors?
I adore our wedding industry here in Birmingham and am friends with many vendors here. If you have a planner, we will be in touch well before the day to make sure we’re on the same page with everything. During the reception, I stay in communication with the band/dj to make sure we don’t miss any important moments without the other. If vendors would like to use my images from the wedding to share, they are more than welcome to reach out to me and I can help them with that!
Will you post sneak peeks or use images for marketing purposes?
In my contract there is a clause for a model release, allowing me to share on my website and social media as needed. I do my best to share previews before receiving your full gallery but it is not promised. If you’d rather not have your images shared, that’s fine too! We can take out that part of the contract. Most couples are more than happy to share their images and I love sharing them!
How are my photos backed up?
Everything on my end is backed up in a digital cloud and on two external hard drives, so nothing will ever get lost! Once you have your digital images, it is highly recommended to back up in multiple places as well, so you’ll always have your copies when you need them.
What’s your travel range?
Anywhere within the greater Birmingham area is included with your collection, but I looove to travel, so let’s go! I’ve shot weddings and engagement sessions in Jackson Hole, NYC, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and all over the southeast. I’m truly down to go anywhere! Especially love a traveling elopement. Maybe this year will require a passport 👀
What is required to book our date with you?
Once we have our collection put together, to hold your date I require a signed contract and 25% retainer. The remaining balance for your collection will be due one month prior to your wedding date.
Are payment plans available?
Yes! You are welcome to make payments for however is easiest for you, as long as the final balance is paid in full by one month prior to your wedding date.
Have any more questions? Please don’t hesitate to reach out! Let’s plan a time to talk more and go over all the extra details, I can’t wait to work with you!
